Wendy Barney is a teacher deserving of a Walk of Fame star for a number of reasons. She has been teaching for 35 years and recently decided to retire. She has been in Box Elder School District and is currently at Weber High teaching Math 2 and Math 3. Mrs. Barney has a way to realte to the struggling student and those that struggle the counselors put in her class. At times this is overwhelming to her, however, she keeps a positive attitude and works towards helping them learn the material. Speaking of positivity, Mrs. Barney also works towards teaching students life lessons outside of math. She will pull in motivational quote and videos she sees to start of her class period. She even has a mantra for her classes which almost daily she has her students stand and repeat with her. It goes, "Today is a great day for a fresh start, I will always do my best because everything matters." This is Mrs. Barney! She truly believes everything matters which is what she works to teaching her students. On top of teaching she is also always helping out here at Weber and has helped as the Boys and Girls Golf Liaison, plays music at Football games, Girls Basketball bookkeeper, has been involved with Senior Class Officers and the list could go on and on.
