Mike is an absolute wonder as a teacher! He currently teaches 1st grade and was given a class of 28 1st graders! He is kind and patient and manages to keep all those little ones learning and loving school! That is no easy feat! Each year, he lets his class choose a name for the class snake and walks around with it draped over his neck every year at the Halloween parade. He also makes a special effort every year to attend activities of his students. He came to 4 of my son's basketball games - 4!!!! For my little guy, it was like having a celebrity in the audience! We love Mr. Okumura so much!! Hall of Fame in our book!
