My daughter has been fortunate to have Mrs. Chang as a teacher for both 2nd and 3rd grade. As with many children, last year was a very hard year for my daughter (and for us); coming into this year with the same teacher was a real gift because we had someone who could see the positive changes in our daughter after several months of working on mental and emotional health. Mrs. Chang has been so supportive and vocal in her observations that our daughter is so much happier, more attentive and more responsible and timely with doing her work. She has also let our daughter know how helpful, kind, and fun she is—every word of support and acknowledgment has been a boost to our daughter’s confidence. All of this is in addition to Mrs. Chang’s firm but kind expectations of excellence from her students. My daughter is a tiny bit “scared” of Mrs. Chang because she wants to impress her with her good work—which she has been doing with a level of independence and responsibility that we are very proud of. We are so grateful to Mrs. Chang for her support.
