A bit of context for this work of poetry, my life can be exhausting and excruciating sometimes. I have Type One Diabetes and cochlear implants, and I have to manage those things, keep my sanity, and have fun and try to be a kid all at the same time. But I stay optimistic. I keep my hope, and I know myself. Sometimes, all it takes to gain hope, all it takes to grasp onto your wildest dreams, is to look in the mirror and ask, “How do you do it?” All it takes is to recognize your own worth.
