Mrs. Tenney has a powerful and long lasting impact on her students. She is able to inspire students and everyone around her to aim higher, find and develop individual strengths and give their best performance in every aspect of life. Mrs. Tenney has the ability to teach with conviction and motivation, her students believe what she says and they have a clear understanding of concepts being taught. Students are motivated to listen, be respectful and try their best every day.
Many former students from middle school and high school will make a point throughout the school year to come back to visit and thank Mrs. Tenney for the memorable and educational experiences they enjoyed while in her classroom. They also feel comfortable talking with and sharing their life and stories with Mrs. Tenney. An etiquette Valentine's dance, Greek Olympics, Shakespeare Play, Renaissance fair and Images of Greatness are some of the memorable and educational events students express appreciation for and fondly remember. One former student said, "Mrs. Tenney is the only teacher I respect." Mrs. Tenney is able to create respect in her classroom and teach students to love and respect themselves. This respect changes the way students think and behave, helping students to make more positive life choices.
My son has grown in confidence and ability in Mrs. Tenney's class and is very well prepared academically, socially and emotionally to launch into middle school next year. My son enjoys going to school each day and says the school year doesn't feel long. My daughter was in Mrs. Tenney's class during 2020 and the Covid shutdown. Somehow, Mrs. Tenney was able to teach all the remaining concepts for the year and hold engaging class Google meets with 20 plus students, making all students feel connected and engaged on-line. IMPOSSIBLE! Mrs. Tenney is a talented and gifted teacher that has inspired and loved my children. I am so grateful for the lasting influence and effect she has had on our children and family.
