Arts Grant Judging Rubric

1. Quality: Overall quality of the project

  • Clear and detailed program description
  • Application provides a clear overview of your PTA history, mission, and programming.
  • Programming is creative and innovative
  • Arts learning activities are selected by the PTA and provide quality arts programming to children at the local school level.
  • Staff, volunteers, and artists are qualified to produce quality youth programming (resumes/bios reflect expertise) and show commitment to artistic quality (supported by supplemental materials)
  • Project is relevant to the audience it serves and supports the values of the school community

2. Impact: Impact of the project on your school and community

  • Project is accessible to all children at the school
  • Project actively engages participants with the arts
  • Project is relevant to the youth it serves
  • Project sustains participants' relationship with arts education
  • Demographics of the school served are clearly stated
  • PTA's programming demonstrates a commitment to broadening and enhancing arts activities in the school community.

3. Budget: Appropriateness of the project budget

  • Budget is clear, accurate, and complete
  • Budget is relevant to the proposed project

4. Ability: Ability to complete the project during the school year

  • Clear and diverse plan to promote and market the event to the students, parents, and community
  • PTA's and project partners are effective and capable of completing the project
  • PTA volunteers and project personnel are effective and capable of continuing to provide artistic services to the school community

5. Evaluation: Ability to assess program outcomes

  • Methods are clear and appropriate for the project's goals
  • Upon completion, you are able to see a student learning outcome in the arts
  • Your PTA is able to implement clear evaluation techniques and capacity-building strategies
