Impact on Children:

Utah's consent laws make it to minors are unable to access services to help them quit smoking and vaping without a parent's consent. Some minors won't ask their parents, because they are trying to hide their usage of these products. There is some concern that by making this exception, it opens the door to other exceptions that we may not support (extreme example would be abortion). This bill is very specific in that it ONLY applies to tobacco & nicotine cessation services.

Impact on Children:

A founding principle of PTA’s mission is to promote the safety and well-being of all children and youth. PTA believes that technology can enhance the learning experience and foster creativity and connectedness among students, educators and families. However, technology can also give rise to digital environments that could be harmful to children and youth.
