Resources: Parent's Guide to Student Success

Parent's Guide to Student Success

The Parents’ Guide to Student Success (below in English and Spanish) was developed in response to the Common Core State Standards in English language arts and mathematics that more than 45 states have adopted.  Created by teachers, parents, education experts, and others from across the country, the standards provide clear, consistent expectations for what students should be learning at each grade in order to be prepared for college and career.

In addition, NBC Education Nation has created the Parent Toolkit with Academic Growth Charts to aid parents in helping their children be successful in school.

Utah Common Core Standards

Please review the K-12 Utah Core Standards in academic areas, from English Language Arts (ELA), mathematics, science, social studies, computer science etc... . While Utah's core standards are their own, they bear enough resemblance to the Common Core Standards that the parent guides can be very valuable to parents who want to help their children flourish academically with the new state education standards.
